Conventions for these Guidelines

The conventions define and explain individual terms, formatting and specific uses applied in the text of the directives.

Fonts
The monospaced font is used with:
  • the indication of transcription examples,
  • the specification of tags or code examples.
Unicode
The notation U+NNNN refers to a corresponding Unicode character. Furthermore, in the transcription examples for higher Unicode characters, the XML-derived notation form &#xNNNN; is used.
